We’re thrilled to announce the first quarterly Doof the Write Thing short fiction contest! This contest, funded by our Doof! patrons, is a great opportunity for Do the Write Thing participants to show off the best of their thirty-minute short stories.
The Rules:
1) The submission must include three words from one of the Do the Write Thing prompts posted in the interval October 18, 2019 through January 17, 2020.
2) Your submission must be 2000 words or less in length.
3) You may edit your submission; it does not need to be identical to the original story.
4) The contest begins today and submissions will be accepted until January 20, 2020, 11:59:59 PM PST.
5) Please submit your stories to doofmedia@gmail.com and include “DTWT Contest #1” in your subject header.
6) Only one story per writer!
The Contest:
Once all submissions are received and the deadline passes, we will provide a poll to our Doof! Patrons, who will get an opportunity to vote on their favorite story. The story with the most votes wins! The voting will be patron-only, so if you’d like to participate in selecting the winner, consider donating to support Doof! Media Podcasts!
The Prize:
The top three stories of the contest will be read on a special episode of Do The Write Thing and receive cash prizes.
The winner of the contest will receive a $100 USD! The second-place finisher will take home $75, and the third-place winner will receive a $25 prize as well!
