In February, we’re heading back to the wonderful world of Tana French’s murder mystery novels. This time we’re taking a look at her 2020 novel that’s a bit of a departure from her normal fare.

Here’s the summary:

Retired detective Cal Hooper moves to a remote village in rural Ireland. His plans are to fix up the dilapidated cottage he’s bought, to walk the mountains, to put his old police instincts to bed forever.

Then a local boy appeals to him for help. His brother is missing, and no one in the village, least of all the police, seems to care. And once again, Cal feels that restless itch.

Something is wrong in this community, and he must find out what, even if it brings trouble to his door.

This will be the third Tana French we’ve discussed in the book club as we continue to love her work here at Doof! Media. It comes just in time too as the sequel to The Searcher will be out later this year!

The live-streamed discussion of  The Searcher will occur Friday, March 1st at 9:30 PM Central Time over on our YouTube page. We’ll see you there!
